Terry Hanson
My name is Terry G. Hanson professional drummer-percussionist-educator-drum circle facilitator. It all started at the age of 12 when my father bought me my first J.C.Penny's red sparkle snare drum. I have been performing for and educating many people nationally, regionally and locally over the past 35 years. Played in rock, country, blues, r&b, top 40, blue grass, Dixieland, Latin and jazz groups. Toured for 3 years in a D.O.D. show band to 25 different countries entertaining the troops.
Currently I'm leading my jazz group the Terry Hanson Ensemble starting our 14th year together. Playing with the Ellis Kell Band going on my 10th year with them and freelancing with numerous other regional and local bands. I taught at McKay Music Company, Moline, Illinois and Davenport, Iowa for 12 years till they closed. I'm currently teaching at West Music, Moline, Illinois starting my 11th year with them and Black Hawk College, Moline, Illinois starting my 15th year with them.
I facilitate the monthly Community Drum Circle at the River Music Experience, Davenport, Iowa and continue to conduct drum set-percussion master classes, drum clinic's-circles-carrier days at elementary-middle-high schools, colleges, libraries, church's, park group's and music stores in the local and regional area.
